The POD Diary – February 25th-28th, 2009
I received $16.91 deposited today from Amazon, but this is not from Kindle sales. This is actually from Associate sales where people purchased my book through special links which I provided. I highly advise that you sign up for the Amazon Associates program because it’s like getting paid twice for your book. You’ll earn a commission from every thing they buy through the Amazon link, and you’ll also earn a royalty through Lulu for the distribution sales of your book. To join, scroll all the way to the bottom of any page on Amazon and click on Join Associates. They provide different tools to create your own bookstores, product links, etc.
Lulu Author Sales Contest in March
In March, Lulu.com is having a contest and rewarding the top 3 best selling books of the month. The three highest selling author’s in March will receive $1,500, $750 and $500. The books will also be highlighted in an email blast, the Lulu newsletter, and the first place winner will receive an interview from the Lulu blog.
LLBR’s Birthday Bash
Our birthday is March 1st, and you’re invited. But we’re the ones giving the gifts away!
Marketing tools: Mailing List
How many of you mail things to bookstores and potential customers to promote your publications? Perhaps it’s a postcard, or an envelope of bookmarks, or a marketing kit. I mentioned the marketing materials that Lulu offers in an earlier post. If you’ve been reading the POD Diary, then you know I just bought 110 bookmarks and 100 postcards through Lulu. So, I began preparing a mailing list in anticipation of receiving the postcards.
The POD Diary – May 12th, 2008
Due to the lack of interest in the Success Stories feature I had created last month, and at an attempt to keep things fresh and interesting here at the LLBR site, I have replaced that tab with something I’m calling the POD Diary.
Review 9: Extra Hands by Jack Orchard
Since beginning this review blog, I’ve probably read more nonfiction than I’ve ever read in my life. The success of authors telling their stories about overcoming obstacles in their everyday lives has been astonishing, such as Shirley Cheng who used Lulu to share her words, enthusiasm, and spirit. Writers like her constantly reiterate why I started this blog in the first place.
I Want My ISBN!
Greetings all and welcome to May! Before we get rolling with this month’s reviews, I wanted to take some time out to discuss a few topics of the POD industry.
Although my Success tab at the top of this page has been extremely slow (hint…hint), it’s been nice to hear from some of you personally about the success of your Lulu books. When asked for advice, I seem to be saying the same thing over and over again…If you haven’t done so already, buy an ISBN for your book!
