Welcome to July!

Normally, I would have posted this link in the POD Diary section since I came across it while working on marketing for my own book, but it was just too good not to post here on the main page.

Check out this newspage.com link which is a small directory for Independent Bookstores in the U.S. and Canada.

Are there any readers out there in the DC area? If so, jump in the car this weekend and find a bookstore called Olsson’s Books. They need your help! They are filing for Chapter 11 due to a decline in sales.

It’s hard to believe that this is the end of May, the third month since I started the Lulu Book Review site. The support of this site and the number of visitors to it has been overwhelming, reaching over 4,000 on the counter so far. Thanks to all the loyal readers, and to the wonderful authors we’ve discovered and reviewed because of it.

This month I’m starting a new blog segment to fill some of the time between reviews. It’s called IN-NEWS and will focus mainly on the independent book industry. I wish we had more independent bookstores here in St. Louis, but we don’t. The largest and most popular, and the only one that I know of, is called Left Bank Books. It is “in the city,” which is a place I don’t get to much since I live and work in the suburbs.
