Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Grover Swank

Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Grover Swank

By LK Gardner-Griffie on January 18, 2012

I think I’ve said this before, but I love mysteries. I cut my reading teeth on the cozies of Agatha Christie — I have read every single one more times than I or anyone else can count — and it didn’t stop there.

Author Spotlight: PJ Cowan

Author Spotlight: PJ Cowan

By LK Gardner-Griffie on January 14, 2012

I woke up in a somewhat reflective mood this morning and as my mind rambled through various reflections, I stopped when I came to one of the authors I have known for a few years, PJ Cowan.

Authors Give Us Your Previews

By LK Gardner-Griffie on June 2, 2009

We’ve mentioned that we now would like to post online previews of your work along with the written review, so that any readers of the review can not only see what our opinion is, but can check the work for themselves and see whether they agree or disagree.

The POD Diary – May 12th, 2008

The POD Diary – May 12th, 2008

By Shannon Yarbrough on May 12, 2008

Due to the lack of interest in the Success Stories feature I had created last month, and at an attempt to keep things fresh and interesting here at the LLBR site, I have replaced that tab with something I’m calling the POD Diary.

Words from the Inside

By Shannon Yarbrough on April 3, 2008

Mark, a Lulu engineer, has been making the rounds, recently commenting on my previous post and also commenting on Veinglory’s recent remarks concerning Lulu over at Podpeep.

POD vs. Amazon: Updates

By Shannon Yarbrough on April 2, 2008

Based on sketchy information posted in the Lulu Forums, it looks like Lulu.com has probably agreed to Amazon’s ultimatum. Due to the fees I’m sure Amazon will be slapping publishers with for having to use its Booksurge printing services, we can probably look forward to increased fees to be passed on to users as well. I chatted with a Lulu representative today through their online chat support hoping to get some info for you, but was pretty much given “blanket” information that anyone would already be privy to.

Amazon’s Official Statement

By Shannon Yarbrough on March 31, 2008

Thanks to Veinglory over at PodPeep again for bringing this letter from Amazon to our attention in regards to the recent matter addressed in my previous post about Amazon monopolizing the POD printing industry by requiring all POD publishers to use their BookSurge company for printing or the BUY button of their books would be taken down.

Amazon Pushes POD Up a Creek

By Shannon Yarbrough on March 28, 2008

Although I had already planned to blog about it when I got home from work today , and I’m sure most of you have heard about it by now, per Veinglory’s request I’d like to voice a bit of my outrage about Amazon’s recent approach to Publish America to use Booksurge as a printing source or else! Or else what? Or else the BUY buttons would be removed from the PA books on Amazon.com and the books would only be available through third party sellers.

Newsworthy POD Updates

By Shannon Yarbrough on March 25, 2008

As March draws to a close, I’d like to thank the 1,000+ visitors who have visited the site during its first month. I’d like to thank the four authors who’ve been reviewed thus far: thank you for producing, writing, composing, and editing such great work that beats the POD stigma. And thanks to those who’ve asked to be reviewed. I’ll be getting to more of you come April, I promise.
