I’m writing to ask if you will consider reviewing my novel, Aladdin’s Samovar. It’s a humorous mystery/thriller: Amber Polaski finds a genie in an antique brass samovar and wishes to find her long-lost father, only to find out he’s on the run from the Mafia.

    Book Description
A nice, normal, boring life—that’s all Amber Polaski ever wanted. One where she’s not unchaining her flaky New Age mom from endangered trees, bailing her out of jail, or getting dragged to naked pagan rituals. But when Amber finds a sexy genie in her antique brass samovar, any hope of normal goes up in smoke.

It’s just one tiny little wish—to find her long-lost father. What could go wrong?

Plenty. Dad shows up, all right—with a computer drive full of stolen data and angry mobsters hot on his trail. Now Amber has Fugitive Dad holed up in her Manville, NJ duplex, fending off the Mafia on one side and the FBI on the other. And she has Jasper the genie lounging in her blue plush recliner, conjuring chocolate chip cookies and passing himself off as her boyfriend. While Jasper is trying to tempt Amber with more disastrous wishes—and his seriously hot thousand-year-old body—Amber and her mom are forced to fight off Mafia assassins with nothing but chutzpah and household appliances.

It’s time for Amber to call in the B-team: Iggy the homeless dwarf, Tim the ecoterrorist, and Wanda the Fairy Dogmother with her pack of Happy Puppies. Together, they need to save Dad before the Mob makes him disappear again—permanently!

The book is available as an ebook only at present. I can provide you with a mobi, epub or pdf file, or an Amazon Gift.

    LL Book Review Team:

I hope that you will consider reviewing my interconnected short-story collection, So They Say, self-published via CreateSpace, November 21, 2011. The collection received a favorable Kirkus’ Indie Review (January 2012); I am eager to obtain additional objective reader reaction. The collection is available in softback and e-book formats at Amazon and in e-book form at Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords Premium Catalog. So They Say features original cover art and has been professionally edited.

    Book Synopsis:
So They Say follows southern-born Rex Fordham on a five-decades-long journey across America, to Europe, and back again. The product of 1950s conformism and self-repression, perennially bulky and awkward as a child and adolescent, Rex sheds a burdensome past to become a successful architect, husband and father; but the same unbendable laws of human attraction that plagued his youth torment him as an adult. When a same-sex affair and an unspeakable loss destroy his marriage, Rex must abandon his search for place and personhood or change course. Post divorce life in San Francisco—where Rex finds hope and passion in the person of entrepreneur Rand Osmond—offers a chance for happiness; but will Rex’s fear of failure and lingering feelings of unworthiness derail his chances for self-acceptance and love—especially when loss once again comes calling?

Can you imagine a mystery being created and solved in 100 words? That’s the purpose of Cops, Crooks & Other Stories in 100 Words, a new, short ebook of flash fiction. The book contains mini mysteries, mini puzzles with satisfying, unexpected endings. I’d like to submit it to you for a review.

Seven stories in this collection have been published within the last two months in four different fiction magazines: Stymie Magazine, MicroHorror, Flashshot and 101 Words. Each story is complete with a protagonist, a challenge and a resolution.

My background includes work as a newspaper police reporter and as an advertising copywriter. I’m author of three previous (John Wiley & Sons, Inc) nonfiction books, one of which was translated into four foreign languages and selected by the Book of the Month Club. Most recently I was a correspondent for the San Francisco Chronicle.

A woman makes a daring escape after robbing a bank–with help from a passing cop. A father saves his married daughter–by killing her husband. These are some of the seemingly complex stories begun and resolved in exactly 100 words.

Crime/mystery/police stories make up about half this book. Also included are love stories, humor, dramas and speculative fiction.

    Details:

Title: Cops, Crooks & Other Stories in 100 Words: 101 Tales

    Format: ebook

    Hello!

I wanted to know if you might be interested in reviewing my short story.

It’s a science fiction short about a lone woman searching for a Goldilocks planet for the human race. Below is a copy of the blurb and a link to Amazon so you can check it out.

“Alone on a spaceship for two years, Becca must discover a new Earth to save the human race from destruction.

Using a machine that allows her to experience the surface of a planet in virtual reality, she explores a potential Goldilocks world. However, as she begins to lose memories of her past, she realises that technology comes with a price.

With a geomagnetic storm threatening to disrupt the mission, it will take all of Becca’s willpower to separate reality from fiction.”

I would like to introduce you to Welcome Home, a book for children ages 10-12 that is approximately 150 pages in length. Welcome Home was published through CreateSpace on December 24, 2011. Welcome Home is a story that illustrates the value of friendship and the importance of never giving up on your dreams.

For as long as Jake can remember, he has been having the same dream. In his dream, he lives with a wonderful man in a beautiful home. He has never seen the face of the man in the dream, but he knows the man’s voice and is certain they belong together. When Jake is finally old enough to be given away to a new home, he believes that he will finally get to meet the man he has been dreaming of his entire life. However, when he is chosen, it is definitely not by the man from his dream! He is taken to a home where he is terribly mistreated. After suffering years of abuse, Jake finally escapes and is able to begin his search for the man from his dream. Along the way, Jake meets some interesting characters, survives amazing adventures, and forms life-long friendships.
I have been a veterinarian for over ten years. Welcome Home was inspired by the many stories that I have heard from clients describing how they were united with their beloved pets. Though the stories vary, there is a theme that connects them all; the idea that the animals “chose” them to be their owners and “somehow knew” that they belonged together.

    Dear reviewers,

Please let me know if you would review my novel, Pearl Lagoon.

The Caribbean coast of Nicaragua in 1926 hosts so many citizens of the United States
that a Bluefields newspaper is named ‘The American,’ and Marines land regularly to
protect lives and property.  U.S. timber companies, fruit plantations, and gold mining
operations attract Americans as both managers and laborers.

When a stunning local woman named Dorette Fox entangles herself with two
expatriate Americans, the desultory love triangle combined with an escalating civil
war ends in a murder.  Cordell Fletcher, a young consular officer sent north from
Bluefields to investigate the death, finds that the shooting is not over.

You ask why this book should be reviewed; well, so many different people and cultures converged in that area of the Caribbean in those days — as they continue to do today, actually — that stories popped up like bubbles in a pot of rundown. I wrote down the better ones I know in this book.

Published by CreateSpace, and on Kindle.
