Congrats and good luck to all the books, I am biased as Permanent Passenger: My Life on a Cruise Ship is what I call my dirty smelly book, the inside story of living and working on a cruise ship. Each night I look at my wall and do a small cruise prayer that my book will be the 100th book reviewed, I then write up on my chalkboard, 100 times, Permanent Passenger, Permanent Passenger
    cheers and beers

Micha, if you’re praying for the 100th review, I hope you get it.

Big, fat, round numbers aside, I’m happy to be reviewed wherever it lands. Don’t get me wrong: I was pleasantly surprised to be notified that my novel was in the running for this, and I’m pleased to have such good company. As yet, though, I haven’t hit my knees to will it to happen.

But perhaps there are some associated prizes that I haven’t been made aware of …

    Best wishes,
    CL

Good things happen when you don’t turn your computer on all day! Usually I never NEVER get chosen for contests or anything, so this is a nice surprise. Does anybody know how the books were chosen? Probably randomly, but just thought I’d ask. Good luck to my fellow writers and we’ll see how things play out in the next 4 weeks.

It’ll be neat to get our books reviewed, all 6 of us, no matter the turnout of the contest.

Thanks LLBR for including me in this!

      Hi Ashley-

Each reviewer picked one or two books they are currently previewing. So the books were chosen at random.

      Thanks,
      Shannon

Hope this comment isn’t posted as it’s just a question about the 100th Contest. I’ve looked at the review poll widget from two different computers and it only seems to be displaying the results. If it’s a broken widget hopefully we’ll see this fixed shortly. Thanks for all the great work you’ve done here at LL Review.

      Hi Eric-

It only displays the results to you after you’ve voted. You are only allowed one vote.

      Thanks,
      Shannon

The King, Father and Mother by Eric Rhodes is one of the best books I have been reading. It’s history fiction and yet, history, strong and accurate description of places, situations, and emotions. A book for everyone to read and enjoy.

  7. RJ Keller

I’m really very excited and grateful that “Waiting For Spring” is in the running for this. Thanks for including it!

I’ve been checking out the other books, though, and they all look amazing. My biggest hope is that this contest draws attention to high-quality indie books in general.

  8. Mike Cohn

I saw those half naked pictures of Micha, WHAT A STUD!! No wonder he got all those dancers on the boat to play checkers in his room. He is my hero!!

  9. Pamela Adrian

Best of luck to all of the contestants, and a big “shout-out” to Eric Rhodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Kimberly Parker

‘600 Hours of a Life’ is a terrific read. I highly recommend it!! Vote for it. Now! Go. What are you waiting for?

  11. Kaitlyn

I will vote for Waiting for Spring by RJ Keller!!
    Such a great book

  12. Cindy Brown

Permanent Passenger: My Life on a Cruise Ship was a great behind the scenes look at the cruise line. Having gotton married on a cruise ship and been on cruises since then it was an interesting look at the “world” of the crew.

A must read for anyone who has gone on a cruise or is planning one!

Good luck Micha! Hope you get the 100th!!!!

  13. Barry Host of Cruising Authority

Great book on life as a cruise staff member on a cruise ship! Good luck with your reviews!

    Barry

  14. Colin Parker

600 Hours of a Life by Craig Lancaster is a great read. A great book that I am telling all my friends about it. Now if I only had more friends.

  15. David Frieman

Permanent Passenger: My Life on a Cruise Ship is a great read. I’m surprised Micha hasn’t been approached by Oprah yet…any day now! Good luck Micha!

  16. Ashley Lane

I looked at “600 Hours of a Life” and I was blown away by the gorgeous cover and am now royally intrigued by the synopsis. I know each of the chosen writers hopes to be the 100th, but putting that feeling aside since I’m one of those writers, I hope “600 Hours” wins. It sounds very deep and if I had spare money, I’d buy it! Good luck, Craig!

Craig, how did you design the cover? I’m a Paint/MS Word kind of girl, but I could tell that your cover is a little bit more sophisticated than mine!

  17. Jackie Thomas

I plan on reading Permanent Passenger in very near future; being in hospitality industry, I know I will enjoy the read! After all, a ship is really a floating hotel, right!?

  18. Lisa

A vote for The King, Father & Mother, hope it gets there as it deserves it.

  19. Craig Lancaster

Ashley, thanks so much for the compliments on the cover.

I wish I could take credit for it, but my good friend and former colleague Tim Ball — one of the best graphic designers in the country, if you ask me — put that together for me. We had about five prototypes, then did the democratic thing: We opened it up to a Facebook vote. Luckily, the voters liked the same one we did.

    Best,
    CL

    I am TORN.

I mean, Minnie looks like such a great book, but so does Permanent Passenger. I wish I could have them both somehow…but as a starving artist who also wants to save up for a Kindle, this will probably not happen soon.

I don’t know who to vote for, but it’s either Minnie or Permanent Passenger.

    Let the marketing bombardment BEGIN!

    Hi Folks-

We seem to be missing the point of the comments here. Comments on this page are for people who would like to be entered into a raffle to win a copy of the book that ends up being our 100th review. You can vote for your choice of book on the home page, but leaving a comment on this page enters you into the contest to win a copy of the overall winner.

Multiple comments from the authors, any criticism from readers, and any kudos are fine, but those posts should not be made here. So, we’ve moved the shout outs and shout backs to the LLBR Comments tab. You may continue on there.

Thanks all for your excitement and interest in the poll and contest!
