I received February’s Kindle payment today. $86.45 total. February was my best month at the time, but was beaten out by March. April sales have already beat that too. But, let’s update my figures with today’s payment.

I’m just a few days away from my next Kindle payment. This one will be for sales made in the month of February, totaling $86.45. Lulu is also reporting 2 book sales from the UK since I last updated, but it’ll be a while before I see that money since that’s only $1.34. The best news so far came last week when I noticed my Amazon sales rank went way up. I was hovering around 1.5 million, but I shot up to 180,000 just in a few days. Here’s the proof…

My free book campaign from last month continues to slowly pay off. I received another 5 star review this week on Amazon from a reader I don’t know. I say that because although reviews from friends and family are great, you know those people will always give you a high rank. That’s great and all, but the “stranger” reviews hold a bit more merit. I’d like to point out that I’ve actually never met in person any of the 7 people who have reviewed Stealing Wishes. I do know two of them, but only through email or online chat.

No joking! March was a great month for me and the book. Sure, I didn’t make the Lambda Literary Award finals, but that’s okay. Read an Ebook Week definitely ignited something in me. I started by making the Ebook version of Stealing Wishes free on both Lulu and on Smashwords. I’ll admit…not one single sale! You heard me…I couldn’t give the book away.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Wish I had more “green” to celebrate today than this. Lulu transferred my current earnings to me today via Paypal. A whole $9.55! This is the first payment I’ve received from them since December. These earnings were for 1 copy downloaded through Lulu, 1 hard copy sold through Lulu, and 3 copies sold through other distribution channels such as Amazon. I basically earned 67 cents per copy through the outside distribution channels. That’s the price you “pay” for wanting to keep the price of your book low.

The Free Ebook version was a flop and I took it down this morning since Ebook Week is now officially over, but I continued to sell copies on the Amazon Kindle this week. March sales have now passed February to make this my best month ever, exceeding $100, and the month is only half over. That’ll be a nice paycheck in May.

December Kindle sales posted to my account last night! December was $70.53.
Total money invested on this project to date (after book sales only): $146.42 (debt)
Profit made to date on this project after all sales and services: $370.71
If I don’t invest any more money in marketing over the next two months, then the next two Kindle deposits will wipe out my debt on this project and I will be out of the red!

I received $16.91 deposited today from Amazon, but this is not from Kindle sales. This is actually from Associate sales where people purchased my book through special links which I provided. I highly advise that you sign up for the Amazon Associates program because it’s like getting paid twice for your book. You’ll earn a commission from every thing they buy through the Amazon link, and you’ll also earn a royalty through Lulu for the distribution sales of your book. To join, scroll all the way to the bottom of any page on Amazon and click on Join Associates. They provide different tools to create your own bookstores, product links, etc.

I made another $60.00 today by creating another book cover for a fellow Lulu’er. That’s $57.96 after Paypal fees. I’ve also sold a few more copies of Stealing Wishes which has been reported to me through Lulu. I’ll post that money once Lulu pays me.
Total money invested on this project to date (after book sales only): $233.86 (debt)
Profit made to date on this project after all sales and services: $283.27
