You may or may not have heard of an Epub file. For those of us e-publishing via Kindle or Nook, you are probably working in PDF files.
Recently, a reviewer asked for a copy of one of my books in a PDF or Epub file. I supplied a free coupon to download the book from Smashwords since I really wasn’t sure what Epub was. But it sparked my interest to want to learn. I made a mental note of it to Google it later on.

Do you collect autographed copies of books? Ever wonder what the heck you are going to do as Ebooks keep getting more and more popular? No worries! Just have authors sign your Kindle! That’s right! Evan Jacobs has created a new online program called Kindlegraph. Authors can sign up and load their books to the program, allowing readers to request their virtual signatures. And it’s super simple to use for both readers and authors!

I recently upgraded my Kindle to an iPad about three weeks ago. I’ve been blogging about the iPad on my author blog, but I thought I’d cross post the information here for those who are interested. Here’s my first post from March 13th of this year:

With the release of a new newsletter this past week, Amazon DTP (Digital Text Publishing) changed its name to KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) which is a good move on Amazon’s part and brands their online publishing program. I did always think DTP led to the possibility that maybe we’d be able to do something else here outside of Kindle one day. And here’s the intro from telling how the newsletter came about:

Barnes & Noble unveiled a new full-color, touchscreen version of its Nook e-reader Tuesday in New York City.
The new version, priced at $249, will begin shipping on or around Nov. 19, and is now available for pre-order. Unlike Barnes & Noble’s current Nooks, the new one won’t have a 3G network connection. It will only be able to get online through Wi-Fi.

This Fall marks the release of my own new book, Are You Sitting Down?, which is already available on Kindle. Unfortunately, the paperback edition is still weeks away, but at this point in the industry, I’m not rushing it. I’ve already made more of a niche for myself amongst E-Readers at this point in my writing career, more so than I will probably ever see in paperback sales alone. And I’m not alone. We’ve soapboxed enough about the Kindle, but in case you still aren’t convinced by the E-movement, then check out this story from author J.A. Konrath: eBooks and The Ease of Self-Publishing. Today marks the Kindle release of Draculas, a horror novel that he wrote with Blake Crouch, Jeff Strand, and F. Paul Wilson.
