Outside the Wire by Richard Farnsworth

Outside the Wire by Richard Farnsworth

By C. V. Hunt on May 11, 2012

Richard Farnsworth presents us with a collection of short stories in Outside The Wire. Two of these are just snippets of larger stories, Succumbing To Gravity (everyone who knows me, knows I will force you to read this book), and Gift Of The Bouda. Both of which show how well Farnsworth can write the internal struggle.

I think the back cover of this book describes The Hungry Mouth the best.

Short and long stories about people, animals, cars, crashes, love, disease, death, dinosaurs, black holes, breakups, zombies, gods, children, happiness, and hunger.

How Gods Bleed by Shane Porteous

How Gods Bleed by Shane Porteous

By C. V. Hunt on March 13, 2012

I jumped at the chance to read this after seeing the word werewolf, but quickly found out that it was more of a Lord Of The Rings/Fantasy/Exploring/Adventure and not the Horror/Blood/Guts/Terror that I usually read. I gave it a chance anyway, knowing that I didn’t like The Lord Of The Rings books, (I’m sure to never hear the end of that.) but still found myself trying to drag myself through this story, hoping that the werewolves would capture my attention. Don’t get me completely wrong, I like action/fantasy movies, but I can never get into the books.
