Tell us a little about your book.
Jane West has everything a woman could want. A job in a small Montana town’s only adult store, two busy young boys and one dead husband. Everything except a little excitement–a little zing. But that changes one summer morning at a garage sale when her kids buy some garden gnomes.
Now someone wants those gnomes and will let nothing get in their way. Including Jane. This new excitement for Jane spells trouble for a relationship with new neighbor–and hot fireman–Ty Strickland. Can Jane and Ty handle a relationship meddling mother-in-law, crazy kids, and stay alive while trying to solve the mystery of the garden gnomes?
This is a romance with lots of humor, mystery and tons of heat!
What inspired you to write this book?
I lived in Montana for five years. It is a fabulous place to live and has many interesting and unique qualities that make for great writing. Inspiration could also be found during the long winters. I had ample cold, dark days to think up a really unusual story!
What are you doing to market your book?
I’m on Twitter, member of several great groups in Facebook, Triberr, I do great interviews/blogs like this one and book reviews. I’m also planning on attending RomCon in June which will connect me to many great romance readers.
How are readers/reviewers reacting to your book?
I did a free day on Amazon in January and made it to #14 on the bestseller list for free ebooks. That was a huge deal for me! I’ve had many rave reviews on Amazon, but I do get some that say they’re ‘not my cup of tea.’ I’m glad for all reviews because that means someone spent time reading my book!
What was the biggest challenge you faced writing this book and how did you overcome it?
Tenses. I’m terrible with them. Here’s an example: I went to the store and will get some juice that had been apple. I’d like to think after 219 pages I’d be pretty good at them, but no. I have my critique group who pull out their red pens and mercilessly find them!
What are the future plans for you and this book?
I’m going to make this book into a series. All of them will tie in with the gnome theme and will include Goldie (the meddling mother-in-law).
Any advice for other writers/indie authors out there?
The only person keeping you from publishing is you. There’s little to no cost to turn your ideas into a book for the masses. Good luck!
