Upon graduation from college, the road of life stretches in front of us. We have seemingly unlimited potential and just need to hop on the road and start moving forward. At that point in our lives, we see the possibilities, we have hope fueling our desires, but out of sight are the curves life will throw as well as the pitfalls we hope to avoid.

This book is a memoir about growing up working on the cotton plantations in Mississippi. Not only did this family struggle because they lived in poverty, but they were also black and living in the south when African Americans were discriminated against and looked down on just because of their color.

With the release of a new newsletter this past week, Amazon DTP (Digital Text Publishing) changed its name to KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) which is a good move on Amazon’s part and brands their online publishing program. I did always think DTP led to the possibility that maybe we’d be able to do something else here outside of Kindle one day. And here’s the intro from telling how the newsletter came about:

I applaud anyone who keeps a journal -whether its handwritten or typed. I’m pretty good at blogging every day, and have tried keeping a handwritten journal but I always fail. I think we tend to be more truthful when it’s pen to paper, so I expect that Ashly Lorenzana handwrote much of her true confessions – scattered journal entries she’s now published on Kindle as Sex, Drugs, & Being an Escort.

Dead Forever: Awakening (Book 1 of a trilogy) by William Campbell brings us into a world of human beings who have cultivated reincarnation into a procedure essentially as simple as an appendix removal. You die and you get a brand new adult body, complete with all the emotional and experiential memories you possessed at death for an eternity of cycles. Sounds pretty good. Sign me up for bungee jumping, parachuting, etc.

OnlineCollege.org posted their 10 biggest predictions for the future of book publishing yesterday on their Online College Blog. After looking over the list myself, I agree with all ten of them and probably would have predicted most of them myself. They are pretty safe predictions because they are trends we’ve already been seeing just in the last three years since LLBR started. It’s very safe to assume these trends will only grow. What are your predictions for the future of publishing?

It’s hard sometimes to decide where a review should start, especially when I’ve read a good book and I’m yearning to tell someone all about it. The book encompasses so much, and I don’t want to leave anything out, but I don’t want to give the good parts away either. That’s exactly how I feel about Will Entrekin’s new novel, Meets Girl.
