The illustrations were what first caught my eye in What’s the Trouble in the Forest of Kerfubble, written and illustrated by a married couple named Roger and Jennifer Sulham who have been together for 22 years. But after reading it, the words are equally engaging. I just wish my niece or nephew were still of age to enjoy a book like this because I would love to give it to them as a gift.

I’m a huge animal lover and have reviewed animal books here before, so I couldn’t resist taking a look at Through the Eyes of Snowball by April Terhaar. It’s another great book told from the point-of-view of the animal itself, in this case, Snowball the Maltese puppy.

I always enjoy reviewing children’s books as the holidays approach. Books were such a part of my growing up, I don’t remember ever having been without them. Although it has been argued that my mom taught me to read in self-defense, I don’t ever remember learning how to read, I just did.

The Dead Don’t Cry. Sounds like a horror tale, perhaps set in a graveyard. The rest of the cover of Mark Anthony Lopez’s first novel proclaims it as a, “science fiction epic.” I’m not so sure about epic, but this is definitely science fiction, not horror.

Poems are useless
Though some people read them
They’re either trying to be romantic
Or pseudo-intellectual
Or they just like it
When words

June 8, 2009 was when I wrapped up my POD Diary here on LLBR, an online account of my journey into formatting, publishing, marketing, and selling my 2nd book, Stealing Wishes pretty much from the start to the end of the first year of the book being in print.

Cancer. The very word can act like the disease itself and worm its way through our bodies, eating at us from the inside out. It is a word which strikes fear in our hearts to hear it pronounced as a diagnosis.
