I received $16.91 deposited today from Amazon, but this is not from Kindle sales. This is actually from Associate sales where people purchased my book through special links which I provided. I highly advise that you sign up for the Amazon Associates program because it’s like getting paid twice for your book. You’ll earn a commission from every thing they buy through the Amazon link, and you’ll also earn a royalty through Lulu for the distribution sales of your book. To join, scroll all the way to the bottom of any page on Amazon and click on Join Associates. They provide different tools to create your own bookstores, product links, etc.

The last time James had walked this way, he was sure the path had bent more to the left. The difference was a little thing, but it sounded an alarm bell in his head. It wasn’t like he was an infrequent visitor to this small patch of woods, he came this way at least twice a week. When he didn’t feel like riding the bus (usually on nice, sunny days) he took this route.

I thought I’d take just a moment to let everyone know where each of the eight books are and current travel plans for the books.
Book 1
The Purple line started off in Garden Grove, CA and then traveled to Bayfield, CO, a trip of 801 miles, then on to Durango, CO, which brought the total mileage of the book up to 828 miles. It’s next stop was Montreal, QC where it is participating in the Pearson Prize Book Award contest, bringing the total mileage for the Purple line to 2,175 miles. Wow! I haven’t received any updates as yet from Montreal, but hope they start trickling in soon.

Like many writers, Alex Geana probably keeps a journal. When his Mead black and white notebook isn’t at hand, he grabs a cocktail napkin at the bar and borrows a pen from a waiter to record the thoughts forming in his brain. He says so in the introduction of his anthology called Side Step Me. One poem is even labeled “Poem on a Bar Receipt.” My favorite surface was always using the back of the cardboard beer advertisement tents on the table. Geana says the collection of poems in Side Step Me spans ten years. You’d think he was in his fifties because he mentions a dead mentor in the first sentence of the introduction, and his writing style is extremely adult and somewhat weathered.

Today marks a day on the E-Calendar that many of us have been talking about the past year. It quite literally snuck up on us overnight, but the Kindle 2 is here and became available today. With 37 reviews already (the majority posted yesterday), it’s averaging 3.5 stars with a mixture of emotions all across the board. 17 reviews give it 5 stars, 11 are stuck in the middle, and 9 give it only 1 star.

How many of us have wished we could change things…make the world a better place, especially if we see something prejudicial to our sense of fair play? ‘Just Justice’ builds a case for those wishes to come true.

I first discovered Mick Rooney’s writing last year when I reviewed his book Academy. Mick, like me, keeps informed of the POD world and its regular developments, often covering very informative topics in his author blog which I have read religiously over the past year. Mick kept me posted on his next book, Filigree & Shadow, published last November, but I waited so that it could be one of the first books I devoted attention to this year.

With tomorrow being Presidents Day and with a new leader in the White House this year, I felt the need to search Lulu for a good book devoted to our presidents, and I actually found several. However, Neal Finkelstein’s book held my attention the most. Despite the lackluster book cover which resembles a photo album or guest book for a baby shower, US Presidents Fun Facts proves you can’t judge a book by its cover.

While I’ve never been a fan of Valentine’s Day, February wouldn’t be complete here at LLBR without at least recognizing some sort of book in the romance genre. I searched no further than my very own bookshelf and found a book that a Lulu author had actually sent to me. The blurb on the back begins…”This is a story of romance set in rural northern Louisiana.” That’s good enough for me!
