With a turkey in the oven and the Macy’s parade on television, I thought I’d take a moment to wish all the writers and readers out there a Happy Thanksgiving. The older I get, the more I’ve come to enjoy this holiday even more than I do Christmas. It’s a nice slow four day holiday weekend for me to eat, watch TV, read, put up my tree, and yes, write. I’m currently in the process of polishing a novel I wrote last year from August till December. I actually finished the last page on New Years Eve. The book takes place at Christmas so it’s been hard to get in the mood to work on it all year until now. I hope to have it polished by February for the ABNA contest. So, I’m thankful to have time over the next four days to work on it.
Speaking of being thankful, when it comes to writing or reading, what are you thankful for? Over the next four days, if you stop by and read this post, add a comment telling us. I, myself, am thankful for all of the readers out there who have supported this blog this year and added it to their favorites. I’m thankful for the hundreds of authors who have posted queries, eager for reviews.
I’m thankful for writers like Will Entrekin and Mick Rooney who have shared their personal POD stories with us. I’m thankful for writers like Todd Fonseca who created a support blog to share his marketing ideas with other fellow authors. I’m thankful for my fellow reviewer, LK, who came along at a time when I needed help the most, breathing new life and new views into this blog.
As an author, I’m thankful for my friends and family who believe in me. I’m thankful for the readers who have taken time to read my work. I’m thankful for other POD blogs like iUBR, or PODPeep, or PODler, or Breeni who continue to give the POD community the much needed support it deserves.
So what about you? What are you thankful for?

Shannon,
What a nice comment. Thank you – for taking a shot on a new author and giving my book credibility with a thoughtful and thorough review. It has opened doors to allow my book visibility on other sites (such as being featured in October on flamingnet.com, inclusion on boysread.org, etc.).
I’m also thankful for all the readers and authors out there working together to help and learn from one another.
Todd A Fonseca, author of The Time Cavern
Thank you for your kind words! I am thankful for those open to POD authors, as well. I realized not long ago that the most treasured books on my bookshelves came from POD authors. That should say something.
Shannon,
Thanks for all your help and support this year. Keep up the good work and have a great holiday weekend.
As always, thank you for your kind words. I am thankful that you started this review site which gives Lulu authors a place to be reviewed. Your enthusiasm and drive are infectious and I am thankful for the opportunity to assist in reviewing works to help support POD writers.
Thank you for thinking of all of us on this wonderful holiday. Since I have published my book I gave everyone in the family an autographed copy which was a big surprise to all of them. They were all so happy that I accomplished my goal. I thank everyone on Lulu who has been supportive with information to help me through my process.
Shannon,
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
