I'm so right there with you concerning ratings. I just don't understand how people rate things most of the time. When asked how I would rate anything, I usually say "Well, on a scale of one to banana, I give it a purple." Although, when I reviewed Joe Hill's <i>Heart-Shaped Box</i>, I decided to do different: "On a scale of <i>Black Rain</i> to <i>Paranoid</i>, I give it a 'Crazy Train,'" mainly because the novel was so heavily influenced by Ozzy.
